Outreach at Messiah

Outreach at Messiah welcomes you to Worship each week.

This is a very exciting time for Messiah as we welcome our new Pastor, Robert L. Lewis, Jr.
Pastor Lewis will join us on Sunday July 8, 2012, at 10:00 am.  Pastor comes to us from Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bethesda, Maryland where he was Director of Youth and Family Ministries.
He was on the Synod's Youth Ministry Team for 7 years, the Chaplain for the Synod's Youth Work Camp for 5 years and Pastor- of- the- Week at Mar-Lu-Ridge, an ELCA Outdoor Ministry.
Pastor Lewis has two Theology degrees, one in Master of Arts in Religion and Master of Sacred Theology and a Graduate Certificate in International Mission and Ecumenicalism.
Please join us as Messiah prepares for an exciting future!

Messiah also participates in Sew Much Comfort. The group meets  each Tuesday at 6:30 pm in Messiah's Fellowship Hall to cut, sew and pack adaptive clothing for wounded servicemen and women returning from   Afghanistan.  Information is on our website under  Ministries at Messiah.

Messiah is now a part of the Malaria Campaign in collecting funds to purchase Mosquito Netting to send to Africa. The nets cover cots to help stop the spread of malaria carried by mosquitoes.
This campaign will continue until 2014.

We are also planning a Stop Hunger Now food packing event for November. Pre-packaged meals will be packed and packaged for distribution to people all over the world who do not have enough to eat.
This requires 40-50 people participating to pack 10,000 meals in several hours. The cost of each meal is 0.25 cents. Please contact me, Jane Paul, Evangelism chair if you would like to sign up or would like more information.

We have many exciting opportunities at Messiah for Outreach. I look forward to hearing from you.
Peace,

Jane
